Traverse Report

(Colin’s Facebook post)

  • Thank you all for today. The weather was fabulous and the turnout was fantastic. More than 200 runners and walkers of all ages turned up this morning for the Okaihau-Kaikohe Traverse. The sun shone and everyone had a fantastic time.

  • Thank you to the Pioneer Village for hosting the registrations and the finish; the Adrienne Tari and the Twin Coast Cycle Trail Community Trust for making the trail available; Far North District Council; to local businesses for generously providing prizes; for Tony Taylor who provided the sound system and acting as MC: and to all Rotarians and friends who helped on the day and ensured everything ran without a hitch. Finally, we need to mention organiser Don Edmonds who ran the show with seamless efficiency.

  • Kaikohe Rotary is committed is helping our community. Through the Traverse we encourage everyone to be active and involved. Thank you to all those who were this morning. We hope to see you again next year!
