1 June 2016 Meeting Caylynn Titore and Rima Selwyn are two Kaikohe teens with great futures ahead of them. Recently Kaikohe Rotary sponsored the two Northland College students for a voyage on the sailing ship R Tucker Thompson. Speaking to Rotarians last week, Caylynn and Rima admitted to being noted landlubbers and before they the ship sailed admitted to having a few misgivings about departing dry land. But in Rima's case the sight of President Don turning up at this home with his bus helped convince him to go ahead. During their voyage the R Tucker Thompson stopped off at a number of offshore islands where Caylynn and Rima and took part part in conservation and clean-up projects. The pair quickly adapted to the routines of life on a sailing ship, including 6.30am swims each morning and climbing to the top of 30-metre-masts to change sails. Congratulations, Caylynn and Rima. You have been distinguished representatives of Kaikohe Rotary.
