12 August Meeting Report

  • Our special guest this week Louise Martineau came to Kaikohe Rotary all the way from France. Louise goes to the same school in Nantes as our recent outbound student Monita Skipworth and became best friends with her. Unfortunately, Monita couldn't be with us, so Louise was accompanied by Monita's parents Garry and Matewai.

  • Louise is on holiday in New Zealand and while she is enjoying her time here, admits she is missing the French summer. Louise has been to Whangarei, Paihia, Waitangi and Waipoua Forest. Before she goes home Louise will spend a week in Hawke's Bay and will be among the spectators at the Northland Taniwha Ranfurly Shield challenge against the Bay.

  • President Don had the honour of presenting Louise with a kauri bowl carved by Rotarian Bruce Killen. Thank you for coming to join us, Louise, and we wish you all the best for the rest of your stay.
