3 December Meeting (Reporter - Ngaire)

  • Apologies - Sue James and Ray Davies.

  • Visitors - Cam Sutherland was welcomed.

  • Makeups - Members were thanked for their help at the Christmas Parade.

  • Elves on Shelves - A box will be at the warehouse for customers to donate gifts for Christmas

  • Mounted Games - Members will man the gates on a rota system with Rotary receiving $200 per day.

  • Grocery Raffle - John reported that all books were in, vouchers were good to go and thanks go to the team for selling 1000 tickets.

  • Pioneer Village - Bruce mentioned that the Masonic Lodge in Kohukohu had donated some large cabinets to the village and he was looking for some manpower to help with these.

  • Meals on Wheels - 15 -19th December

  • PETS - Don attended a training seminar on Saturday as the president elect and was impressed.

  • A Data Base has been set up with the historical records of Kaikohe rotary. It will be available via the Kaikohe Rotary site.

  • Don Edmonds wished everyone a Merry Christmas mas as he will be away on his annual trek to Queenstown.

  • Valerie mentioned that Raewyn Goodwin has book packs for 3 - 5 years to purchase at $10 each to be given to Plunket to distribute to families in the area.

  • Christmas Puddings - Valerie has offered to look after the puddings.

  • OSH Reform Bill - If it goes through will affect everyone - a copy of the letter to be distributed to all the directors.

  • 5 Min Speaker was Glenis who spoke about her recent travels to Germany, Poland etc and the effects of poverty and how things were under the communist regime.

  • Glenis introduced Barry whom she met at the Blood Bank who was interested in coming to rotary as he was a member in Wellington some time ago
