1 October Meeting Report (Reporter Don) Apologies - Helen and John, Sue, Bruce and Elizabeth, Glenis. Guests - Steve and Megan Hammerton. Agreed to the request for a grant of $330 fo the Rotary Challenge Camp. Volunteers needed for the Blood Pressure Awareness Campaign at New World on Saturday 4 October. President Liz presented Megan with a letter and a cheque for $2,000 as a club contribution to her exchange costs. Megan has raised about $6,000 so far towards her $15,000 target. Traverse follow up - Very positive feedback Jim asked whether the start times for officials were okay. Officials need to know when to leave their posts. Suggested that cones are put on the centre line at road crossings. Think about how to improve the prizes and prize giving. We may be able to publicize the event on TV. Consider celebrating 100 years of the tunnel. Agreed to hold the next Traverse on Sunday 27 September 2015.
Discussed the need to use the RSA microphone system for guest speakers. There is a meeting for Pioneer Village supporters and helpers at the village at 1:30pm on Sunday 12 October and ay 8:00pm on Sunday 2 November there is a special history presentation at the village. More details later. Don read out an email greeting from George Palmer.
