  • Diamond Jubilee

    • Congratulations to Glenis for the excellent article in the Northern news.

    • Thanks to all those who were at the tree planting working bee. A letter of thanks is going to Bunnings.

    • Numbers needed - buy your tickets as soon as you can.

    • Sixt-one Kaikohe Diamonds will be announced at the function to mark the start of the club’s sixty-first year.

    • Bruce has produced certificates for the Kaikohe Diamonds.

    • Noel has liaised with Suzy Wingrove for the hockey activity with Merv on Saturday 17 May.

  • Dictionaries are awaiting distribution. The Milford Club is paying for the Kaikohe East School dictionaries.

  • The Primary School Speech contest will be on 18 June. Don is sending invitations to schools.

  • Promise and Promiscuity is coming to the Kaikohe RSA at 7pm on Wednesday 4 June. Perhaps we should adapt our weekly meeting so that all can attend.

  • Members have noticed that Rotary has not been acknowledged in recent publicity about the Polio campaign. Asked that President Glenis takes this up with the District Governor.

  • Suggested that the club should develop a policy for corporate membership.

  • Keith day will be our guest next week. He is going to tell us about a new literacy project.

  • Guest speaker and archaeologist Bill Edwards is Area Manager at Heritage New Zealand’s Kerikeri office.

    • Heritage New Zealand has about 110 staff.

    • There are more about 66,000 recorded archaeological sites in New Zealand and 7,500 in Northland.
