News and Notices Peter Vollweiler of the Otago Youth Adventure Trust/Rotary Club of Milton Tramping Club has sent out an update on the next season’s activities. Go here for details. Link to download the 2013-2014 District 9910 Directory. Link to the updated Club Attendance Expectations. On Friday 5 July Dictionaries were presented at Omanaia School and Kaikohe East School. Frank and Don, along with Frank’s daughter Anja and granddaughter Kirsty received a warm welcome at Omanaia, and President Glenis was assisted by her husband Cam, and Merv Huxford and Bronwyn at Kaikohe East. The staff at Kaikohe East School took the opportunity to show the Rotarian visitors their new cycleway, and the school gardens. Link to photo album.

The club confirmed the following Honorary Members - Heather Ayrton, Audrey Brown, Hoani Hippolite, Bill Hutchinson, Lindsay Johnson, George Palmer, Rayma Ritchie, Murray Wright. Notices District Governor Phil Ashton updated members on a range of Rotary issues including: The new Rotary Theme - Engage Rotary - Change Lives. Need to make Rotary more challenging for younger members. Resources available at district level. Funding schemes. Membership growth in Asia and decline in Western countries. 2014 Conference in Waitangi.
Graduate Gemologist Janice Blomgren gave members an entertaining and informative insight into the world of precious stones.
