26 June Club Changeover Report Club members and guests enjoyed Ray and Vivienne’s hospitality at Wildspur Lodge. Guests - Valerie’s Mum, Jessie Wilson, Valerie’s daughter Sylvie and grandchildren Asher and Taimana, Jill Gillies, Vivian Shaw, Cam Sutherland, Malcolm Hedley, Malcolm McCallum, Donna Allpress, Vanessa Aarsen, Lucy Ruka, Murray and Ina Fielding, John and Elodie Vujcich. Members and guests joined Valerie’s family in celebrating her birthday. President Noel acknowledged Bruce Gillies’ Paul Harris Sapphire award in recognition of his 50 years as a member of the Rotary Club of Kaikohe. Bruce has been a very active Rotarian supporting student exchanges, playing a major role in the establishment of the Pioneer Village and setting up the Waimate North Courthouse at the village. Bruce continues to actively support all Heritage Kaikohe activities. He has also created various publications, certificates etc for the club including a new members’ booklet and a book of Rotary Graces.
President Noel presented $3,000 to John Vujcich for the establishment of the Heritage Kaikohe website. In presenting his annual report Noel listed a remarkably long list of Rotary activities completed in the 2012-2013 year. Link to the Club Changeover photo album.
