8 May - Report by Valerie

  • Instead of our usual weekly meeting, on Wednesday we supported the fundraising 'premiere' of the movie Gambit at Cathay Cinema. Funds raised to support 6 year old Darcy, grandson of Jenny Blackler, who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour.

  • President Noel, Elizabeth & Bruce, Frank, Glenys and Cam, Sue and Malcolm, and Mother and I attended the 7.30pm showing.

  • At 7pm we were treated to red or white wine, or 'mocktails' which looked much more interesting, but being non-alcoholic, of course weren't.

  • The movie was a bit of fun, the seats very comfortable, the temperature inside (on a miserable night) just a tad too warm.

  • Thanks to all who came, and also to Liz and Moe for their donations.
