News and Notices No regular club meeting in Kaikohe this Wednesday 8 May. Instead members are asked to support a Movie Fundraiser for young cancer patient Darcy Wilson. 7:00pm at the Cathay Cinemas, Kerikeri. $25 includes a glass of wine or “mocktail” and movie entry. 1 May Meeting Report President Noel welcomed back Elizabeth, Glenis, and Don, who attended the District Conference on Norfolk Island, and our regular visitor, Jessie (Valerie’s Mum). Bill is in Thailand right now. Primary Schools’ Speech Contest confirmed for 19 June. President Noel has received a message about the Global Polio Vaccine Summit - see above. Members are encouraged to support the Community Planting Day - Monument Hill - 1:00pm - 1 June. The Traverse Committee has met, and will meet again at Don’s place, 7 Rankin Street, 5:30pm 20 May 2013. Dictionaries Rotary NorthTec Science and Technology Programme - Glenis advised that Murray Neighbour has offered to fund four students. Glenis is assisting with travel and supervision and will make further enquiries at Northland College. Valerie told us about the Movie Night Fundraiser for young cancer patient Darcy Wilson. Agreed that there will be no club meeting next Wednesday 8 May and members are encouraged to support the Movie Night Fundraiser (see above). Five Minute Speaker Keith told us about their trip to Auckland to see the opera, Madame Butterfly. Beautiful music, terrific singing. Elizabeth, Glenis, and Don reported on a very successful and enjoyable District Conference Experience on Norfolk Island.
