31 October Meeting Report
- Assistant District Governor Chris brought Greetings from District Governor Lindsay Ford. Thanks to the Kaikohe Club for agreeing to host the combined meeting 14 November.
- Following their recent visit ADG Chris and DG Lindsay are very keen to find ways to support the Pioneer Village.
- $50,000 has been promised from the District Designated Fund towards the development of the Pioneer Village’s web site.
- Lindsay is also passionate about dictionaries. Chris is seeking support from various Auckland clubs, with some success.
- Matching Grants may be available for Education and/or Youth Development programmes.
- Chris introduced Sue Hamnett. Sue will be Assistant District Governor from June 2013.
- Glenis, Cam and Sue are helping with the blood collection this Friday. Planning to pick up Heather.
- Bay of Islands Pastoral and Industrial Show - Saturday 10 November. Planning already in hand. Volunteers required. See News and Notices above.
- Combined Clubs’ Meeting here in Kaikohe 14 November. Need an indication of numbers by the end of next week. See News and Notices above.
- Bill reported that he has eight boxes of Christmas Puddings (see above to order).
- Bill has been following up payments for advertisements on the town directory.
- No working bee needed at the Hone Heke Memorial Gardens. Gardens are in reasonably good shape.
- Morgan is currently attending Kerikeri High School.
- She gave an illustrated talk that gave an insight into her family, Rim of the World High School, and the Lake Arrowhead community.
- Morgan impressed members with her enthusiasm and her extremely busy lifestyle.
- A interesting and enjoyable presentation.
