- Guests - Lil Day, Leonie Bedggood, Alan Maher, Assistant District Governor Chris Burrows.
- Makeups
- Frank, Jim, Noel, Adrienne and Bill met on Friday - Okaihau Kaikohe Traverse planning.
- Glenis, Ray and Lil - Delivering Dictionaries to Tautoro and Omanaia schools.
- Members agreed that the club will donate $300 to the Clark family of Otaua who recently lost their home in a fire.
- $1,588 has been received from the District 9910 Rotary Foundation for the Dictionaries in Schools project
- A small group is meeting at Don’s place 7 Rankin Street each Friday at 5:30pm to continue planning for the Okaihau Kaikohe Traverse 30 September 2012.
- Jerry Norman is the Guest Speaker at the Kerikeri Rotary Club on 10 September. He will speak about education issues in the Far North.
- Cake Stall next Wednesday 5 September at the empty section in the centre of town. Helpers needed. Be there with your cakes etc at 9:30am for a 10:00am start.
- Elizabeth is taking orders for Rotary Calendars.
- Assistant District Governor Chris brought greetings from District Governor Lyndsay Ford.
- A matching grant has enabled the completion of the Viseisei Sai Medical centre project with the installation of a solar power system.
- Any members going to Fiji can arrange to visit the health centre.
- All members encouraged to attend the combined meeting with the District Governor at the Kerikeri Club at 6:15pm Friday 14 September and to bring potential new members.
- President Noel welcomed contestants and supporters to the Secondary Speech Contest which was organised by Glenis.
- Winner Niveet Singh’s prepared speech topic was “Why are we seduced by materialism”.
- Second place went to Raiha Brown. Her prepared speech topic was “Trust ourselves. We are powerful beyond belief”.
- The impromptu speech topic was “Legalising marijuana would mean more control of its use”.
- Judge Leonie Bedggood congratulated the two contestants, and gave some useful feedback.
