27 June Changeover Report (Reporter - Don)

  1. Kaikohe Rotary’s annual changeover took place at Wildspur Lodge where members enjoyed the hospitality of hosts Ray and Vivienne.
  2. Apologies - Glenis and Cam, Saroja and Stan, Mary and Lyndsay, Hoani and Donna.
  3. Visitors included Honorary Members Heather Ayrton and Lil Day, Bill and Yvonne Hutchinson, Assistant District Governor Chris Burrows, the Ritchie family, a team from Kaikohe Aged Care Centre, Jill Gillies, Marianne Palmer, Sue Hingston, Perry and Maama Clark, Tukaki Waititi, John Field from Kaikohe Lions, Geof McDonald.
  4. Entertainment included two recitals by George Palmer, an anecdote from Valerie, and a sing-along led by George and Don.
  5. Assistant District Governor Chris Burrows congratulated Kaikohe Rotary on another successful year, and explained the Paul Harris Fellowship.
  6. Paul Harris Fellowships were awarded to Don Edmonds, Valerie Dickson, and local historian Rayma Ritchie.
  7. Long serving member George Palmer, who has recently moved to Cheltenham, was awarded Life Membership.
  8. Before handing over the chains of office to incoming president Noel Birchall outgoing president Frank presented his Annual Report in which he summarised the events of the year.
