7 March Meeting Report Reporter - Don

  1. Guests - Sue Hingston, Cam Sutherland and the Iowa Friendship Exchange team: Gary and Karen Murphy, Ev Laning, Tom and Judy Ward, Bob and Pat Freeman, Jack and Jill Schreiber and John Tone.

  3. Makeups - Members that attended the meeting at Keith’s on Monday.
  4. Thanks to Keith and Sue for hosting the barbecue for Iowa visitors and their billets on Monday.
  5. Thanks to those who hosted the exchange team: Keith and Sue, Elizabeth and Bruce, Cam and Glenis, and Saroja and Stan.
  6. District Conference Reminder (see News and Notices above). Conference speakers include Graham Henry and Barbara Kendall.
  7. RYLA entries must be in by 15 March.
  8. Dictionaries for Schools - We have received financial support from the Takapuna Club, and other Auckland clubs may assist.
  9. Noel attended the South Pacific President Elects Training Seminar last weekend and reported on a very full programme for about 300 participants.
  10. Heritage Kaikohe Open Day Saturday 10 March 11:00am to 2:00pm. Vivienne made the scones for Devonshire Teas and six members volunteered to assist.
  11. RYDA is not far away - 22 March.
  12. Moengaroa is meeting the Northland College principal on Friday regarding the proposed Student Exchange.
  13. Noel is off on his annual Canada Geese control excercise in South Island.
  14. The visiting Rotary Friendship Exchange team from District 6000 Iowa USA took the guest speaker slot.
  1. After introductions and some background on each team member we were entertained and informed by an illustrated presentation about their home state of Iowa and District 6000 and its various clubs.
